The Grade 4 Camp

Last week we were on camp.We went to Simonsberg Christian Center.

We left school and the first stop was the Giraffe House. There were loads of animals there were zebras, caracals, servals, snakes, llamas, spiders, goats and of course giraffes. There was a reptile show. There was a massive 5 meter albino Burmese python.I got to kiss a frog. And at the end of the reptile show we had ice cream.

We then got back on the bus and traveled some more to Simonsberg. When we got there we got to see the dormitory. The beds were amazing to sleep on! The camp was massive there was a forest , 2 pools a dam and a big field. When we got there we got a bit of free time we were allowed to play in the forest and build forts.

We built a massive fort out of branches and smeared mud on our faces. After free time we had a swim in one of the pools. We went around the sides of the pool and created a current you could just float in and it could just carry you along. The facilitators then took us on an amazing night hike it was so peaceful hiking up the mountain and looking at the stars and constellations we also saw a shooting star which I of course made a wish.

When we got back it was lights out I slept like a log. We were allowed to play outside when it got light so all my friends and I that were awake did a singing battle in the cafeteria. When it got light after our singing battle we all ran into the forest and played survival games. Then we played teamwork games and we got to build a raft by ourselves and went rowing on the dam. The boys raft almost sank.

The next day for breakfast we had delicious french toast and syrup. Then we went on another swim and played in the forest some more and built forts.

Then it was time to go.

It was the best School Camp ever!
